Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 September 2026
Filip Cooks is a personal recipe site. You can read every recipe without signing in or giving up anything. If you want to leave a review, you sign in with Google, and that means some data gets stored. This page says exactly what, where, and how to remove it.
What gets collected
If you just read recipes
This site's own code collects nothing about you: no account, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and it sets no cookies of its own.
Advertising
Recipe pages can show one ad, below the method. It's provided by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technology to choose and measure that ad, which can include showing ads based on your visits to this and other websites. That happens under Google's policies rather than this site's: see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
You can turn off personalised ads in Google's My Ad Center, or opt out of many other ad networks at aboutads.info. Visitors in the UK, the EU and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.
Other third-party scripts
Two more load because the site can't work without them: a JavaScript library from jsDelivr, and โ while you're signed out โ Google's sign-in script, which draws the "Sign in with Google" button. It runs under Google's own privacy policy and may use Google's cookies, as Google sign-in buttons do on any site. It doesn't load once you're signed in.
If you sign in to review
| Data | Where it comes from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name | Your Google account | Shown next to your review |
| Your profile picture | Your Google account | Shown next to your review |
| Your email address | Your Google account | Identifies your account so you can edit your own review |
| Your rating and review text | You, when you write it | It's the point of the site |
Your name, picture, rating and review text are public โ visible to anyone who visits the recipe you reviewed. Please don't write anything there you wouldn't want publicly attached to your name.
Your email address is never shown publicly. It's stored so the site can tell which review is yours.
No passwords are ever collected. Sign-in happens entirely on Google's side; this site only receives the details in the table above.
Where it's stored
- Supabase hosts the database holding recipes, reviews and profiles, and handles sign-in. Their privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy
- GitHub Pages serves the pages themselves. GitHub receives your IP address as part of any ordinary web request, as every web host does. Their statement: GitHub Privacy Statement
- Google provides the sign-in button and handles authentication when you choose to sign in: policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdSense serves the ad on recipe pages and sets its own cookies: how Google uses cookies in advertising
- jsDelivr serves the JavaScript library the site uses to talk to its database. This is an ordinary file download.
What's kept in your browser
When you sign in, your login session is stored in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in between visits. It's readable only by this site, it never leaves your device except to authenticate you with Supabase, and signing out removes it. Clearing your browser data also removes it.
What is never done
- Your data is never sold.
- Your name, email and reviews are never shared with advertisers or data brokers. Ads are chosen by Google's own ad cookies, not by anything you give this site.
- You'll never be emailed marketing. There is no mailing list.
- This site's own code doesn't follow you around the web. Google's ad cookies, described above, may.
Deleting your data
- A review: sign in, open the recipe, and use Delete my review. It's gone immediately.
- Everything: email the address below and ask. Your profile and all your reviews will be deleted. No hoops.
Reviews may also be removed by the site owner if they're abusive, spam, or off-topic.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and accounts aren't knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has signed in, email the address below and the account will be removed.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to how review data is handled will be noted on the home page.
